about

Recorded, Mixed and Mastered at Freerock Recording Studio & Mojotone Mastering, Greece

Cover by John William Waterhouse:Ulysses and the Sirens
Artwork and Design by Nyxian:Drift

Excellent debut studio disc by this outstanding instrumental stoner rock band from Greece featuring 10 awesome songs of mind-altering riffage from the musical guitar rock minds of Stavros Papadopoulos & Panagiotis Zabourlis. Both guitarists are on the cutting edge of the Greek Stoner Rock Revolution and have produced an impressive, shape-shifting, musical journey that takes the listener to the outskirts of infinity and beyond. Inspired heavily by their Greek Heritage; "Mythologica" is an intoxicating blend of dynamic six string mojo that is highly recommended to fans of the Universal Hippies, Stone Age Mammoth, Stonilla & Hazy Sea. Dive in deep and fly high close to the sun with the essential Children Of Aegean "Mythologica" disc.

::SISYPHUS::
In Greek mythology Sisyphus was the king of Ephyra (now known as Corinth). He was punished
for his self-aggrandizing craftiness and deceitfulness by being forced to roll an immense boulder
up a hill only for it to roll down when it nears the top, repeating this action for eternity.

::DELOS::
Delos is a Greek island near Mykonos, near the centre of the Cyclades archipelago. It is one of the
most important mythological, historical, and archaeological places in Greece. It is the sacred
island of ancient Greeks. Delos had a position as a holy sanctuary for a millennium before
Olympian Greek mythology made it the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis.

::CARYATIS::
In ancient Greek religion Artemis Caryatis was an epithet of Artemis that was derived from the
small polis of Karyai in Laconia. There an archaic open-air temenos was dedicated to Carya,
the Lady of the Nut-Tree, whose priestesses were called the caryatidai, represented on the
Athenian Acropolis as the marble caryatids supporting the porch of the Erechtheum.

::MORPHEUS::
Morpheus was a winged god of sleep and dreams. He and his brothers, the Somnia, were
dream-shapes who could appear in any form in the dreams of humans.

::ARGO::
The Argo is the ship captained by Jason in Greek mythology.

::SYMPLEGADES::
The Symplegades or Clashing Rocks, also known as the Cyanean Rocks, were a pair of rocks at
the Bosphorus that clashed together whenever a vessel went through. They were defeated by Jason
and the Argonauts when Jason let a dove fly between the rocks. It lost only its tail feathers and the
Argonauts rowed mightily to get through the Clashing Rocks before they could close, losing
only part of the stern ornament. After that, the Symplegades stopped moving permanently.

::ACHILLES::
In Greek mythology, Achilles or Achilleus was a hero of the Trojan War, the greatest of all the Greek
warriors, and is the central character of Homer's Iliad. He was the son of the Nereid Thetis
and Peleus, king of Phthia.

::NYMPH::
A nymph in Greek mythology is a supernatural being associated with many other minor female deities
that are often associated with the air, seas, woods, or water, or particular locations or landforms.

::PENELOPE::
In Homer's Odyssey, Penelope is the wife of Odysseus, who is known for her fidelity to Odysseus
while he was absent, despite having many suitors. Her name has therefore been
traditionally associated with marital fidelity.

::PYTHIA::
The Pythia was the High Priestess of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. No great undertaking would be attempted without her sanction and guidance. She served as the Oracle of Delphi and spoke for Apollo, offering enigmatic prophecies while in a euphoric trance.
